Last October, East Noble Schools hosted an e-learning day to prepare for days that could be used in lieu of snow days this winter. Well...here comes winter 2015! This is a great advantage for our students and families. Last year, severe weather forced many area schools to close more than a dozen days of school. EN was left extending the school day by an hour for over a month, adding days to the end of the year, and holding e-learning on Saturdays to meet the state requirement for make-up days. This year, the IDOE has entrusted our district to provide quality e-learning on days we close for snow. While it is never ideal to close school, it makes much more sense to provide quality instruction for our kids in "real time" with our curriculum and keep our students safe in severe weather than to face the same difficult choices we faced after last winter. Our district, our teachers, and our students are well-positioned to move into this next Indiana winter!
